Round #3 ~ Stilton

Summer, Week 2, Year 2

This week with Francis was very quiet and not a lot happened, so it’s a smaller update. The narration is by Francis.

Determined as I am to introduce new people to this settlement, I am trying to host a fifth and final gold level party but thus far, have been unable to do so. I hosted a rather nice barbeque party with James, William and George but it barely acknowledged as a party. Ally doesn’t think I’m really cut out for this hosting nonsense but I’m damn determined to give it a go.

Sadly, after throwing three parties on consecutive days, I am still unable to muster a gold medal and I fear Alexandra may be right. I am a hopeless case when it comes to hosting parties. I think I ought to give it up.

I might actually be able to focus on my resolution of keeping fitter. With all these parties to host, my exercise regime has been atrocious and I’ve barely exercised since the New Year and autumn is almost here.

I invited the guys over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit and to discuss my future in Beckwell. After all, I don’t feel I’m accomplishing much here and I don’t even get to see Ally or George every day as I once was. William suggested I focus on my programming; I have become rather good at it over the past few days and am even earning a little money while doing so. He also reminded me that I worked hard to produce the electricity in Beckwell, so I was entitled to relax a little. I suppose he’s right. Socialising certainly isn’t my calling.

I have taken William’s advice and will focus on my programming. George pointed out the other night that he’s received word of a new resident soon to Beckwell, so we may well be able to start having proper careers. I think I’d like to take up a position in programming – it sounds rather good.

For the first time in weeks, I woke up this morning feeling content. No more social pressures, no more pointless cooking of elaborate meals only for half of it to get wasted and thrown away the next morning. Just peace and tranquillity.

The air is starting to feel cooler as autumn marches steadily towards us. I feel more positive; more upbeat than I have before. Perhaps things will start to turn around for me soon?

Quarterly Summary:
Francis achieved level 4 Programming and as such, didn’t unlock anything this week.
Weddings: None
Babies: None
